Filters generally have a life span of about a year.

GWS offer extract system cleaning, and carry out filter cleaning as part of this service; however grease filters should be cleaned regularly in between these cleans to keep them in good condition and prolong their use. There are many different solutions you can use to clean them but our Series 500 Cleaning Crystals are alkaline and have a powerful degreasing agent and colloidal action to remove oil, grease, etc. more efficiently. This means that they are far superior to the usual degreasing agents, such as caustic or ordinary washing soda. The cleaning crystals can be used in sinks or other containers, but this usually means that the solution is discarded after cleaning the filters once. For more economical and effective cleaning, GWS can supply you with a Heated Cleaning Tank, in which a solution of Series 500 Cleaning Crystals can be kept for several weeks without its efficiency being impaired. Therefore the solution need not be discarded until its cleansing power has been fully utilised. As an added bonus, these tanks can also be used to clean carbonated pots, pans, oven trays and other cooking equipment.

The benefits of soaking your equipment means that you can free up staff, who would ordinarily spend hours scrubbing with scourers, steel wool and hazardous chemicals, gives an immediate improvement to the appearance and hygiene of the kitchen and gets into all those awkward areas often clogged with grease and grime. Your staff are freed from cleaning duties and enables them to use their time more effectively. You can even clean your pans/trays/equipment overnight whilst your staff sleep!

Dip Tanks.
This is a vertical tank, which has a heating element and a waste valve tap. It is manufactured in 1.2mm galvanised sheet steel, with an approximate size of 650mm long x 635mm high x 150mm wide. The tanks have a 50litre capacity, with 30/60g of crystals being used per 5 litres of water. Therefore one 10kg tub, with 20 water changes per tub gives you around 60 weeks of cleaning.
For cleaning grease filters, the solution should be 0.5 kg to 20 litres of water. It should be dissolved in boiling water, and it is best used at a temperature in excess of 82°C, and above 93°C for more stubborn deposits.
Series 500 crystals are supplied 10kg tubs.
